S60 Networking Stack: A huge disorganized mess

First it began with PhoneBoy ranting about how the access point experience is not the same across multiple Nokia devices.

Then he got his Nokia N95 and experienced random reboots and instability when it came to using the VoIP features.

Jonathan Greene was relieved to know that he wasn’t the only one having these issues.

Now Ricky Cadden is delightfully pissed off that there is only one application that behaves the way he wants to; S60 does not handle access point priorities well.

As for me, I can not use WiFi with Real Player on my Nokia E61. The issue is not present on my Nokia E61i.

This is what I miss about Palm: It was the same base OS no matter what device you purchased. Why would phones made N Series, E Series and Multimedia Phones Division yield different results?

Are they not working from the same S60 core?
